EXPERIENCE

While attending college, Walter worked with several architectural firms in the Austin area. Following graduation, he joined a large, regional architectural firm in Atlanta, Georgia. He returned to his native home of Midland in the early 1980s & opened Pate Architects. Active in many civic endeavors, Walter is also a graduate of the "Leadership Midland" program.

Walter has extensive experience in Texas, Colorado & the southeastern United States for a variety of public & private project assignments, such as master site planning, commercial offices, retail developments, health care projects, churches, public schools, industrial projects, detention facilities & recreational projects. He also has considerable experience with energy conservation including active & passive solar energy applications.
